Walk Ten at Margam Park

Marie Curie Walk ten at Margam Park

We were recently asked to supply site lighting for the Marie Curie event “Walk Ten” at Margam Park.  Which saw over 270 people, raise over £400,000 for Marie Curie care.

This unique opportunity saw the sun setting over the Welsh countryside as the walk from the Gothic Castle made its way through farmlands and woodland trails, towards the Pulpit viewpoint, with magnificent views. Past the Iron Age Hill Fort, Margam Abbey Church, the Orangery and its beautiful gardens, and back to the Castle.

Equipment supplied included our small outdoor canopy stage, architectural site lighting using 400 Watt MBI lights to illuminate the front and side of the castle in Marie Curie corporate colours of yellow on blue. Power distribution, generators and tower lights to illuminate the walk.  We were also able to supply sound equipment from our sister company Stage Sound Services. A front of house PA for the band, and to rally the walkers.

The crew enjoyed being part of this successful evening as much as the walkers, and took pride in another job well done.

The Passion

National Theatre of Wales The Passion

Stage Lighting Services Ltd were recently asked by The National Theatre of Wales to supply Technical equipment for their recent production of The Passion which was performed in several venues in Port Talbot.

MICHAEL SHEEN RETURNS TO HIS HOME TOWN OF PORT TALBOT FOR ONE-OFF THEATRE EVENT
The Passion was a three-day non-stop production which started on the afternoon of Good Friday and ended on Easter Sunday evening.
In a spectacular finale to its triumphant launch year, National Theatre Wales joins forces with WildWorks and brings Port Talbot-born actor Michael Sheen back home to star in The Passion – a one-off theatre event with the community of Port Talbot at its very heart.
Easter. Port Talbot is in a battle for its life. Authoritarian forces have taken over the town and plan to change it forever. The atmosphere is explosive. Resistance is inevitable. How far will each side go? Into this comes a man who needs to listen. The stories he hears and the community he witnesses make him the most dangerous element of all.
Taking inspiration from one of the defining narratives of our times, this tumultuous production, scripted by Owen Sheers, and co-directed by Michael Sheen and Bill Mitchell, will take place across the town, with the people of Port Talbot as its cast, crew, and heroes.

The equipment we supplied for this event included our new GDS Liteware LED uplighters, ETC Source Four lanterns and Robert Juliat Foxie Follow spots.
