Cue Light System For Hire

Due to popular demand, we have added another GDS cue light system to our hire stock. The Cue light system provides a very simple but reliable control of cue lights for many applications including theatres and conferences. The cue light system consists of a master controller and up to 8 cue light outstations. The cue light system is analogue and uses standard 3 pin XLR microphone cable.

With Huge amount of Opti Trilite in our hire stock,. Stage Lighting Services recently approached Optikentics to discuss becoming part of their Dealer Network. After a few meetings with Opti's Sale manager, Stage Lighting Services has become an Optikentics dealer for Wales.

Rosco Scenic Paints and Products

Due to the overwhelming number of enquiries for Rosco scenic paints and theatrical supplies, Stage Lighting Services Ltd have decided to greatly increase our sales stock of Rosco products. Increasing our stock like this means we can fulfil more customers orders quickly, instead of having to wait for new Rosco supplies.

Rosco scenic paints and products are the most popular and readily available scenic products in use. Rosco manufacture many ranges of scenic paints, Colour filters including the Supergel, Roscolux E-Colour ranges, dance floors and Projection screens.

Gobos are another very successful side of Rosco. After merging with DHA, Rosco now has a very extensive gobo catalogue (available upon request). Along with the standard Gobo range Rosco have a fantastic Custom Gobo department making the most difficult image into a spectacular crisp gobo.

Not only can we supply the Rosco Scenic products and Rosco Gobos for sale, but we are able to supply Rosco Gobo projection equipment from our Lighting hire stock.

Another Jem Glaciatior X-Stream For Hire

Due to popular demand, Stage Lighting Services Ltd Cardiff have added yet another Jem Glaciator X-Stream to our ever growing Hire Stock. The Jem Glaciator X-Stream creates a wonderful and ethereal low lying ground fog effect similar to the old "Pea Souper" dry ice effect, but without the problems associated with obtaining, handling and storing the Solid CO2 for use in a Pea Souper.

The Jem Glaciator X-Stream consists of a combined smoke machine and refrigeration unit. When the special Jem fog fluid used, an impressive low fog effect is created

This machine is the modern equivalent to our Jem Heavy Fog 1500 which we also still have in our hire stock.

Le Maitre Pyrotechnics supplies

Due to the imminent arrival of the Panto Season, Stage Lighting Services Ltd have decided to greatly increase our Le Maitre Pyrotechnics sales stock for this year's season.

Le Maitre Pyrotechnics are the most popular and readily available special effect. Le Maitre manufactures two ranges of pyrotechnics. The first range is the Le Maitre PyroFlash range, this is the easiest system with simple plug-in cartridges. The second range is the Le Maitre ProStage II range. ProStage II is Le Maitre's professional range of pyrotechnics. These pyrotechnics do not plug into the standard PyroFlash pods; instead the effects have wires for connecting to the pyro circuits and controller.

Not only can we supply the Le Maitre Pyrotechnics for sale, but along with our extensive Le Maitre hire equipment and our Association of stage pyrotechnic registered technicians we can offer the complete solution to your pyrotechnic needs.

Stage Lighting Services Ltd have recently placed an order for 12 LiteWare RGB Battery Uplighter's which should be arriving in September 2009 The LiteWare RGB Battery Uplighter has full RGB LED Colour mix with wireless DMX, and can give up to 24 hours continual use from its integral battery

The LiteWare RGB Uplighter can be used for many applications both indoors or out, and with its built in battery is ideal for uplighting areas where sourcing power might be a problem. Also with its wireless DMX it does not even need a control cable !

More Steeldeck for hire in cardiff

Stage Lighting Services Ltd Cardiff has recently added yet another 16 pieces of Steeldeck staging to our hire stock in Cardiff, taking our Steeldeck 8' by 4' stock to over 120 Pieces. This, along with all the other smaller Steeldeck sizes we have in hire means we probably stock the largest amount of Steeldeck available for hire in South Wales

We stock the 'STEELDECK' range of staging mainly because of its strength, ease of use, flexibility and good reputation. Kobweb Spinner for hire in Wales

Stage Lighting Services Cardiff have added a FBX Kobweb spinner in to our hire stock. The FBX Kobweb spinner is used by inserting it into the chuck of an electric drill and by using the special Cobweb solution a fine cobweb effect can be created.

The FBX Kobweb spinner produces very realistic cobwebs which can be used in Films, Television, Stage, Exhibitions and is especially useful around Halloween!

Avolites Art 2000 48 channel dimmer added to hire

In 2008 Stage Lighting Services decided to invest in the Avolites Art 2000 48 Channel Dimmer System.

The Avolites Art 2000 48 Channel Dimmer's Input is via Powerlock connectors with a Powerlock output link through. Dimmer output is via 16 x socapex connectors ensuring that cabling will be as simple and reliable as possible. Each channel can be patched to any other channel using the Hot Patch System. The Hot Patch also incorporates a lamp test which makes fault finding easy, especially when the same circuit powers more than one lantern. When We ordered our Avolites Art 2000 48 Channel Dimmer we asked that 4 of the Socapex connectors were changed to input connectors to assist in hard powering fixtures like LED's and Moving lights.

New Le Maitre Fake Flame for hire

Stage Lighting Services have added a Le Maitre Fake Flame to our ever growing Hire Stock.

The Le Maitre Fake Flame^TM creates the illusion of real gas flames, but uses absolutely no flammable products! It works by projecting coloured light onto a swirling screen of vapour in order to create a very realistic artificial flame. It is the nature of the swirling vapour which will determine just how visually effective this is.

The system was designed for use in theatres and theme parks as well as on concerts and in nightclubs where a flame effect is desired but it is deemed simply too dangerous or just not practical to use real gas.

Far better than silk flames and cost effective to run (with 2.5 litres of haze fluid giving 60 to 80 hours of continuous operation), The Le Maitre Fake Flame creates a linear fire effect of 1.2m wide. The effect reaches the very edge of the unit, so multiple units can be placed side-by-side to create as wide an effect as desired.

LED Lighting Hire Stock Confirmed

Stage Lighting Services have spent the last few years discussing the pros and cons of different LED Lights for our hire stock. During 2008 we started experimenting with different fixtures and have finally decided to stock the following LED fixtures:

Pulsar Chroma flood 200 – This is a super high-power self contained 200 Watt LED fixture housed in a compact IP65 flood enclosure.

Ipix Satellite Washlite – the IPIX Satellite is a 42 Watt RGB self-contained LED wash fixture. It can be run in standalone mode, Daisy chained or controlled through a DMX lighting Desk.

ArcLine Double Outdoor Optic 72 – The ArcLine LED Batten brings the flexibility of the ArcLine range to the Outdoor world. Our double 36 RGB LED configuration uses the latest Luxeon high powered LED's. The ArcLine has an IP rating of 65 so it is suitable for both interior and exterior installations. Power and control is provided by the ArcPower 144.

ArcSource 6 Birdies – We have adapted Thomas birdies to take the ArcSource 6 fixture. The Anolis ArcSource LED Birdie has 6 RGB LED's and will work in unison with the Arcline LED Battens. As with the LED Battens the LED Birdies require the use of the ArcPower 144.

LED Par – Many customers have asked us for LED Parcans and we have finally decided which LED par is best for our hire stock. This LED Fixture resembles the Source Four par and contains 24 x 1 watt LED's. It can be used with either a DMX lighting desk or independently using its built in sound to light function.

Stage Lighting Services have invested heavily in Robe Moving heads over the last few months.

We feel the Robe moving lights have been very reliable and the use of the Slot & Lock system makes the change of custom gobos very quick and easy. We always listen to our customers comments and suggestions and therefore our hire stock is ever changing, and hopefully improving! Our current ROBE stock consists of the:

Brand new Jem Glaciator for hire

Stage Lighting Services have added a Jem Glaciator X-Stream to our ever growing Hire Stock.

The Glaciator X-Stream creates a low lying ground fog effect similar to dry ice but with out the problems associated with obtaining, handling and storing the Solid CO2 for use in a Pea Souper.

The Glaciator X-Stream consists of a Smoke Machine and a refrigeration unit, when the special Jem fog fluid used, an impressive low fog effect is created This machine is the modern equivalent to our Jem Heavy Fog 1500 which we also still have in our hire stock.

Pipe and Drape Curtain system available for hire

Stage Lighting Services have now added a large quantity of Pipe and Drape into hire. This is a system of bases, vertical bars and horizontal bars and is used to provide a very easy method of hanging curtains where no hanging facilities are available, without having to use tripods. The Pipe and Drape system is assembled and then the our black wool serge drapes are simply tied on to the horizontal bars then pushed up to the required height. We only supply black stage drapes in our hire stock but if you require a different colour we can always recommend someone who can help.

Please note that for stability reasons, it is not advisable to run a long straight line of pipe and drape without any top bracing as it is possible for it to blow over – even indoors.

Outdoor Canopy Stage in hire stock

Stage Lighting Services have recently improved our Outdoor Canopy stock by adding a Milos MR1 roof System to hire.

The Milos MR1 roof System is a 10m x 6m canopy stage. This is ideal for the medium size outdoor stage for a performance or presentation. The useful stage area is approximately 24' x 20' (7.3m x 6m).

The canopy is freestanding and is 4.95m high in the middle of the arched roof. The stage is approx 3' high and has a black skirt around and a set of treads up to it. The canopy has material walls on three sides with which can be removed if required. Price varies depending on distance from Cardiff. Please contact us for a quotation.

SLS Invest in new Socapex Bars

Our Lectriflex par bars have been very busy over the past few years. As we have noticed a tendency toward Socapex in the theatre and as Stage Lighting Services prides its self on good quality, modern equipment, we have decided to invest in new Socapex par bars.

These pars bars consist of 6 ETC Source four pars on a 2.3m long IWB with a Socapex connector.
